My hot streak came to an end last night with a 1-2 night, sending my record to 13-8. The Yankees extended their AL East lead with another win, their ninth in a row. Tonight they’ll look to continue to roll against Toronto while the Mets come home to face the Nationals. Every day on NY Betting News, you will get three free picks which includes one of the New York teams, provided they are in action. Today, we take a look at FanDuel Sportsbook odds for the recommended sports bets.
Washington Nationals at New York Mets +108
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NYM +110
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: NYM +108
The Mets look for their seventh straight win tonight as they host the Washington Nationals at Citi Field. Marcus Stroman (0-0, 6.23) will make his second ever start for the Mets while the Nationals send Stephen Strasburg (14-5, 3.72) to the hill. Strasburg is 1-0 against the Mets this year, although both his starts came in April and May. The Mets lead the season series, 8-5, and have won their last four against the Nats, all coming on home turf. Strasburg stands in the Mets way from their eighth straight, but the Mets are playing with a lot of confidence right now, especially at home. The Mets are 0.5 games out of the last wild card spot and just 2.5 games behind the Nats. A good series will go a long way in helping the Mets postseason chances. I like the Mets at home to continue their streak, especially getting plus-value.
Houston Astros -2 at Baltimore Orioles
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-112)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-108)
Winners of six in a row and nine of their last 10, the Astros will look to continue to build upon their hot play by taking on MLB’s second-worst team, the Orioles. Wade Miley (10-4, 3.05) squares off against Dylan Bundy (5-11, 5.15) in the first game of this three-game set. Miley shut out the Orioles in the team’s first meeting this year back in Houston and has won his last four decisions. The Astros have scored 47 runs in their last five games and now go up against an Orioles team who just got destroyed by the Yankees offensive power. Houston is far and away the better team here and should win comfortably at Camden Yards. I’ll take the Astros at -2.
Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: STL -140
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: STL -143
The Cardinals look to gain on the Cubs and in the wild card race as they host the Pirates tonight at home. The Cardinals took six out of seven against the Pirates last month and send Dakota Hudson (10-6, 3.99) to the hill who won his last start against the Pirates in July. For the Pirates, it’s the struggling Chris Archer (3-8, 5.35) who is 0-1 so far against St. Louis this year. Both teams comes in losers of five in a row, so something has to give. St. Louis, needing the game more, will find a way to get the win to stay in the division race. I like the Cardinals here to win the game.
