Another 2-1 night last night puts my overall record thus far at 9-6 and 9-2 in my against the spread numbers. Tonight, the Yankees look for their 8th straight win as they visit the Orioles, while the Mets, winners of 12 of their last 13, look to sweep a 4-game set with the Marlins. The Mets are just 1.5 games out of the last wild card spot but still nine back in the division race. Every day on NY Betting News, we give you three free picks for the day which always includes one of the New York teams, if they are in action. Today, we take a look at FanDuel Sportsbook odds for the recommended sports bets.
New York Yankees OVER 5.5 runs at Baltimore Orioles
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NYY OVER 5.5 runs -121
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: NYY OVER 5.5 runs (-127)
The Yankees have absolutely owned the Orioles this year, going 12-2 against them and winning 10 of their last 11 in the series. They have scored 6+ runs in their last six against the O’s and have scored 6+ in six of their last seven games overall. The Yankees, winners of seven in a row, will send James Paxton (6-6, 4.61) to the mound to face off against John Means (8-6, 3.12). Means has been Baltimore’s best starter this year so he will make it a little tougher for this Yanks’ lineup getting to 6+, but New York will have the advantage of being on the road and getting nine innings to hit and their offense has picked up steam since that ugly Boston series a couple weeks ago. The Yankees will score some runs tonight. Take them and the over on their run total.
Colorado Rockies @ Houston Astros -2
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-130)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-136)
When a team is rolling, you want to roll along with them. There’s no reason to stop going with the Astros today when they take on the Rockies. Houston is now 15-3 in their last 18 games and get to face Peter Lambert (2-2, 5.71) who has not exactly had the strongest of seasons thus far. A struggling pitcher versus a very hot offense gives me lots of confidence on the Astros today. The Astros send one of the AL’s best pitchers to the mound, Gerrit Cole (13-5, 2.87), to make things even harder for the Rockies today. You can get the Astros at -2.5 for -103 at FD, but to be safe, I’ll take the -2. If I push, I push. Houston has won by two or more runs in their last four games. It’s still baseball and nothing’s ever easy, but Houston is playing some of the best baseball of anyone and I’m not going to jump off the train now. Take the Astros to win by 2+ runs.
Oakland Athletics at Chicago Cubs -141
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Chc -142
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: ChC -141
This is a pretty evenly matched game in Chicago today with both teams taking a game in the series at Wrigley Field thus far. But the Cubs come in with one of the best home records in baseball at 40-19, and are 8-2 in their last ten at Wrigley. The pitching matchup also favors the Cubs as they send Jose Quintana (9-7, 4.40) to the hill to face off against Homer Bailey (9-7, 5.20). Quintana has not lost in nearly two months and has fared his best on home turf. The Cubs currently lead the NL Central by 2.5 games while Oakland is currently battling with Tampa Bay for the last wild card spot, just a half-game back of them. I like the Cubs to win this one at home.
