A bit of a rough day yesterday at 1-2 to bring my record to 18-12 for the season and 16-6 ATS. A light docket on the schedule today for baseball. The Mets, whose win streak came to and end yesterday, are off while the Yankees host the Orioles for a doubleheader. The Mets currently still sit a game out of the last wild card spot while the Yankees enjoy an 8.5-game lead in the AL East over the Rays. Each day here on NY Betting News, you will get three free picks, with one of those picks being a New York team, as long as they are in action. Today, we take a look at FanDuel Sportsbook odds for the recommended sports bets.
Baltimore Orioles at New York Yankees -1.5 (Game 1)
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NYY -1.5 (-152)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: NYY -1.5 (-159)
The Yankees return home today for a doubleheader against the Orioles, a team they have had tons of success against this year. In game 1, James Paxton (7-6, 4.40) will go up against the struggling Gabriel Ynoa (1-6, 5.57). While I know you have to give up a little extra money here to win some with a bit of a high money line for the -1.5, it’s worth the investment. The Yankees have won 12 straight against the Orioles and are 13-2 against them on the season. Of those 13 wins, the Yankees have won by more than 1.5 runs in 12 of those 13 wins. Listen, I know there are no guarantees in baseball, but you’re not going to find a better number than this to support a win Yankees 2+ run win, especially after Baltimore just had a rough weekend series against the Astros where they gave up 23 runs on Saturday night. Despite a win yesterday, Baltimore is struggling as they head to Yankees stadium, losers of seven in their last 10, while the Yankees have won 10 of their last 12. I’ll take the Yankees -1.5 runs.
Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians +106
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Cle -103
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Cle +106
A big series begins tonight in Cleveland as the Red Sox go on the road to face the Indians in a key series for both the Wild Card and the AL Central. The Indians are one of baseball’s hottest teams, winning eight out of 10 and catching the Twins for first place in the AL Central. The Red Sox continue to try and find their game, losing seven of their last 10 and are now 7.5 games behind Tampa Bay for the last wild card spot. Zach Plesac (6-3, 3.03), who has been one of Cleveland’s best pitchers, takes the hill for the Indians while the Red Sox will try and get on track with Eduardo Rodriguez (13-5, 4.17). The Indians have won five of their last six at their home ballpark and are coming off a big series win on the road in Minnesota. With momentum on their side, I’ll go with the Indians for the win tonight.
Houston Astros -2 at Chicago White Sox
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-139)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Hou -2 (-136)
The Astros offense comes into Chicago scoring 58 runs over their last five games. No, that’s not a misprint….58 runs, which includes a 23-run performance on Saturday night against the Orioles. Despite their 8-7 loss last night, the Astros are still winners in 16 of their last 21 games and have a commanding lead in the AL West. Tonight, Zack Greinke (0-1, 7.50) will get his second start for the Astros and faces off against struggling White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease (2-4, 6.00). This will be just the second series of the year this year between the Astros and White Sox with the two teams splitting the first series. With the Astros offense clicking the way it is, they will stay hot in Chicago. I‘ll go with Houston -2 and also like their OVER run total at 5.5 runs.
