Another 2-1 night last night moves my record to 17-10 for the season. The Mets continued their torrid play by winning again, their 16th win in 17 games. They are now within a half-game of the Nationals for the first wild card spot and seven games back of Atlanta for first place in the NL East. The Yankees lost their second in a row as the Blue Jays rallied to beat them, 5-4. Every day here on NY Betting News, we will give you three free picks, one of those picks being one of the New York teams, as long as they are in action. Today, we take a look at FanDuel Sportsbook odds for the recommended sports bets.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays OVER 10 runs
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Over 10 runs (-121)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Over 10 runs (-125)
The Blue Jays try and do the rare feat of winning three out of four against the Yankees in a Sunday Matinee. The Blue Jays have had success this series with their bats, scoring 19 runs in the series thus far. The pitching matchup today gears itself for a slugfest. Masahiro Tanaka (7-6, 4.93) has had a rough stretch of games, giving up 24 runs over his last four games. The Blue Jays send the struggling Trent Thornton (4-7, 5.55) to the hill who has given up 16 runs over his last four games, all in short stints. Thornton has given up nine runs in his two appearances vs. the Yankees this year over a combined nine innings. Runs should be plentiful today in Toronto and I’ll take the over run total in this one. At -103 on FD, you can get the over at 10.5 if you feel slightly braver.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers -105
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: LAD -1.5 (EVEN)
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: LAD -1.5 (-105)
The Dodgers will go for the series win at home this afternoon at Dodgers stadium against the D’backs. The Dodgers will send Cy Young candidate Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-2, 1.53) to the hill who has given up just two runs in his last six appearances on the mound. In his one appearance against Arizona this year, he pitched a shutout over seven innings for the win. The D’backs will go with Mike Leake (9-8, 4.24) who will make just his second career start for Arizona after being acquired in a trade. The Dodgers are 9-5 against the D’backs this year and own MLB’s best home record at 47-16. I’ll give the 1.5 runs at take the Dodgers in this one.
Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds -136
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: Cin -131
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: Cin -136
The Reds destroyed the Cubbies last night, 10-1, and helped me get one of my two wins yesterday. I’ll ride the trend and take the Reds again today. The Reds are 9-6 against the Cubs this year and 5-2 at home in the series between the two. The Cubs road woes continued, now 22-35 away from Wrigley Field. Jon Lester (9-8, 4.34) will take the mound for the Cubs and face-off against arguably the Reds best pitcher, Luis Castillo, 11-4, 2.63). Castillo has won his last two starts and is 2-1 against the Cubs this year, giving up no more than two runs in any of his starts. The Reds will continue to try and ride the bat of Aristides Aquino who has done what no other player has done before, hitting seven home runs in his first 10 career games. Give me the Reds today to win the series.
