Last night moved the record to 16-11, after an easy over at Fenway Park, and then some letdowns out west with the Angels and A’s. We look to bounce back tonight on a full slate of games. The Yankees are still on the road in Fenway, while the Mets welcome the Pirates for a three game series. Tonight we take a look at FanDuel Sportsbook odds.
New York Yankees First Five Innings
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: NYY -110
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: NYY -124
James Paxton squares off against Andrew Cashner, who have been rocky at times this season. Cashner of course has been over-performing most of the year, while Paxton is battling unlucky starts but also returning from injury. The 4.78 ERA on the road is a bit scary, but the first five innings here line up for the Yankees getting up on Cashner and Paxton limiting the Red Sox offense. New York is one of the best first five teams, winning 63% of the time. The Red Sox are a bit lower at 54%. Cashner has allowed a .378 wOBA and 15% strikeout rate against this Yankees team. Paxton has allowed a .282 wOBA and 26% strikeout rate against the Red Sox roster. There is a huge edge here, and the Yankees should bounce back after getting beat badly last night.
Atlanta Braves @ Philadelphia Phillies
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: ATL -136
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: ATL -137
We have a big series of Philadelphia with Atlanta coming to town. While Atlanta is 3-7 in the last ten visits to Philadelphia, I like them tonight. Jake Arrieta loses strikeout stuff against Atlanta, who don’t strikeout much as a team. Arrieta also has been dropping in efficiency over the last few seasons anyway. The Braves are 49-27 as favorites this season, and are 30-20 on the road. Philadelphia sit as 10-23 as dogs. In the last ten games against Philly, Atlanta is averaging 6.2 runs per game. Mike Soroka has been a stud for Atlanta, and is 10-2 in 17 starts this season. Soroka has been better on the road with a 1.13 ERA, and has been strong against both sides of the plate. His strong groundball rate and decent strikeout rate should hinder a Philly offense.
Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 @ Toronto Blue Jays
FanDuel Sportsbook Odds: +108
DraftKings Sportsbook Odds: +108
Tampa Bay is on the road with a bullpen game coming. The Rays are coming off a series loss against the Boston, and will get a chance to rebound. Tampa is 30-21 on the road this season, and are 47-36 as favorites. ATS on the road they are 29-22, where the Jays are 20-31. Tampa has won seven of their last eight against Toronto, and they are 6-4 on the road against the Jays. I like the spread here with the Rays being decent sized favorites. Jacob Waguespack is on the bump for Toronto, and he has a 5.68 ERA in 19 innings pitched so far. Some bad luck on his end, but he has also allowed three home runs. The Jays offense gets a bump on the road where their bats tend to come a life a bit more. Good spot for a Rays bounce back.
